About

This blog is here to keep me accountable to all of you.

My name is Jennifer Bodner and for too many years, I have not seriously taken on any personal projects, goals, tasks, challenges for myself.  Whatever you want to you call them, go for it.  Some people even know them as BHAGs.  The reality has been that I have great ideas for myself and without support and accountability outside my home I have a hard time accomplishing them on my own.

Here’s a great example.  I’ve successfully completed two half-marathons.  My PB is 2:06 at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon in 2003.  A major contributor to my success was being a participant in the Running Room clinics.

Currently, I have a work assignment in Poland.  Being in a country where I do not speak the language makes being part of anything very difficult.  (Holding cheer signs in english at the Poznan Marathon in October 2012 was very confusing for a lot of the participants.)  And I do not want my time here in 2013 to go by with no focus and no desire.  And my desire is to be active all the time.  My weakness is not having a commitment that pushes me out the door at the beginning or end of the day.  This is where you, my family and friends, the readers of my blog come in.

I am committed to being active for 365 days in a row.  Every day during 2013, I will do something that will make me sweat.  This challenge is an idea I had 3 years ago and this year I will complete it.

My challenge begins on January 1st and ends on December 31st.  You have no idea how excited I am about this.
